Anatomy

Are you interested in the workings of the human body? Would you like to know more and go on to a career in medicine or a health-related specialism? If so, why not sign up for an anatomy course?

Your studies will last at least 4 years as you head towards your Bachelor's degree or beyond. You will learn about physical and biological processes, examine skeletons, models and diagrams, and carry out the dissection of cadavers. You will also be taught about the skeletal, muscular, nervous, endocrine, digestive, respiratory, cardiovascular and lymphatic systems. Most students will continue on to higher studies such as a Master's or other advanced degrees.

At the end of your education, you will be ready to consider a job in some of the following popular career options:

• Doctor

• Physical therapist

• Surgeon

• Athletic trainer

• Dentist

Employment prospects vary but the most rapidly growing demand is for athletic trainers closely followed by physical therapists and surgeons.
